De Finale werd gehouden op 7 april 2011 op de Pasar Malam Indonesia te Malieveld in Den Haag. Zoals vorig jaar heeft de echtgenote van dhr. Umar Hadi (Head Ad Interim of the Indonesian Ambassy) de winnares Joy Kartanegara gekroond. Joy stelt hier zichzelf voor:
"I would like to introduce myself, my name is Joy Kartanegara and I am 22 years old. I am born and grown up in The Netherlands in a place called Alphen aan den Rijn. Upcoming September I will restart my study Communication management in Utrecht.
Both of my parents were borne in Indonesia. My father is coming from Kediri, East Java and my mother is from Manado, North Sulawesi (Celebes) and I have one brother.
When it comes to the Indonesian Culture there are so many different things to tell, because every different part in Indonesia has their own habbits, traditional clothes, food, dialect and dance performance for example.
Last year I have been travelling for East Asia by my self and stayed for 3 months in Indonesia, during this trip I did a lot of sightseeing and was amazed about the beautiful nature areas. After Indonesia, I went to Australia, Malaysia and Japan.
My grandmother is still living in Manado. Manado is on the North part of Indonesia where you can find a lot of beautiful gardens because of the variable weather.
When I was in Manado, my grandmother showed me one of the oldest Chinese temple in East Indonesia. This colourful temple is called Ban Han Kiong which is dated from 1819. In front of the temple there are two Dutch cannons from the colony.
The two places I went as well in Manado were Tondano Lake and Bunaken.
Tondano Lake this is the widest lake in North Sulawesi and is about 600m above sea level. There you can enjoy the fresh air, culinary, and beautiful scenery. You can find restaurants with various menus around.
Bunaken is a marine park. To get to Bunaken Park I had to take a boat, it took about 45 minutes to get to the island. The beautiful thing of Bunaken is, that you can dive or snorkel and have a clear view down in the water, where you can see the fishes and corals.
As I told you before, my father is coming from Kediri, there I went to Pohsarang, this is a big park with statues of Jesus. If you walk trough the park, you will see different stories telling about what is standing in the bible. I have seen different kind statues in Indonesia telling about the bible, but I think this is the most beautiful one you can find.
My grandfather was a Batak man, unfortunately I never had the change to get know him but when I went to Medan I met his brother and sister who can still speak Dutch. When I was there at the time my family took me around Medan en brought me to Toba Lake. Toba Lake is a immense of a volcanic lake, with an island in the center. For me it was the right place to take some rest after a lot of travelling and see the traditional Batak dance, which I loved. And made me closer to where I came from.
Before I started my trip I really wanted to see orang utans. It is hard to describe why I like these animals. For me they are a little bit human. When I was in Indonesia I found my way to Ragoon in Jakarta to visit some Orang utans which I have been there twice for almost more then a half day. I still hope to get the opportunity to taking care of these protected animals. Because, there are so nice and adorable!
My reason of being here tonight is because my wishes and of hoping to get the opportunity to be able to contribute for the Indonesia society and ’to organize projects in the fields of education, recreation, housing, health and nutrition contribute to a better future for children".
"Also, I believe that all the children deserve a proper education like every child in The Netherlands".
